Victoria Hamscho

Victoria Hamscho is an Associate in the Washington D.C. office of K&L Gates, where she is a member of the Public Policy and Law Practice. Victoria focuses her practice on legislative and regulatory matters impacting large employers, health care industry clients, higher education institutions, and emerging technology companies. As part of her practice, Victoria advocates on behalf of clients before the Administration and Congress. In this capacity, Victoria works closely with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. Victoria is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia and is an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association. Prior to joining the firm, Victoria was a legal extern at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and a government affairs professional at K&L Gates. Victoria received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was co-president of the NYU Latinx Law Students Association. She has an M.P.H. in Policy and Management from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. 

   

Mary Burke Baker

Mary Burke Baker is a government affairs counselor who leads the Tax Policy practice, focusing on federal tax issues impacting both domestic and multinational corporations. Her expertise covers tax policy, regulations, tax administration, and a wide range of technical tax issues. Drawing from years of experience at the IRS, the Senate Finance Committee, and her current firm, Mary offers clients invaluable insight into the full life cycle of tax policy, including legislative and regulatory processes.

Mary has significant experience with clean energy tax credits, GILTI, FDII, corporate tax rates, and more, and she frequently advocates on behalf of clients before Congress, the IRS, and Treasury. Known for her collaborative approach, she engages closely with clients to understand their businesses and policy goals. Mary also serves on the boards of the Real Tax Policy Group and Time of Grace, and is active in coalitions such as the LIFO Coalition and the Like-kind Exchange Coalition

Guillermo Christensen, an attorney with a rich background as a former intelligence officer and diplomat. With over 30 years of international experience in intelligence and investigations, Guillermo specializes in helping clients navigate complex challenges in cybersecurity and international compliance, including FCPA and OFAC matters. He provides guidance on internal and external crises, such as cyberattacks, corruption allegations, and sanctions violations. Additionally, his extensive foreign policy and government experience allows him to counsel clients on national security issues, including export controls and interactions with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS). Guillermo's multi-dimensional approach combines legal, political, and strategic insights, making him a valuable asset for organizations facing critical challenges.
