Private Directors Association Colorado Chapterin partnership withBailey Program for Family Enterprise Daniels College of Business invites you to join us onWednesday, October 15, 2025, 8:00 – 10:00 a.m., at the Joy Burns Center on the University of Denver campus for a conversation on the value of a fiduciary board for family held and private companies.   

Family and privately held companies face the same business headwinds and challenges as publicly held companies. Companies must continually evaluate their positioning in a world where anxiety and incomprehensible obstacles exist. A critical element in this brittle and anxious environment is working with a fully functioning fiduciary board of directors that provides insight and support on strategy development and execution, risk management and leadership succession. 

At this program you will hear thought leaders with experience in successful private company fiduciary formation and management and engage in meaningful networking with other family and private company founders and directors.

    Jessica Billingsley

Jessica Billingsley is a seasoned executive, investor, innovator, and board leader with deep expertise in capital markets and frontier technology. She is Managing Partner of MacArthur Holding Company, a family office-focused merchant bank and direct investor, and CEO of its FINRA-licensed broker-dealer, MacArthur Strategic Capital. Previously, she founded and led Akerna (Nasdaq: KERN) and has served on multiple public and private company boards. Jessica is also Learning Officer for YPO’s Entrepreneurship Network. Recognized by Inc. and Fortune, she contributes thought leadership to Entrepreneur and Rolling Stone.

   

Kim Schneider Malek
Founder
Family Enterpise Alliance, LLC

Kim Schneider Malek is the founder of Family Enterprise Alliance, LLC, a global consulting firm and the Center for Advancing Family Enterprise, an educational programming initiative sharing insight with and decision support to ownership families, management, family offices, boards, committees and professional service advisors. She has served clients, program participants and students from 50 countries.

A member of the faculty at the University of Denver Daniels College of Business for nearly 20-years, she was a founding advisory board member and director of DU’s Bailey Program for Family Enterprise. Kim has been a content contributor in many family enterprise centers including Family Office Exchange, Institute for Family Business and Family Enterprise Exchange. A co-founding editor of the Family Firm Institute’s (FFI) Practitioner, she is recognized as an FFI Fellow and was a member of the Research Applied Board of the management journal, the Family Business Review. Kim served on both the FFI Body of Knowledge governing committee and the faculty of FFI’s Global Education Network, an interdisciplinary certificate program for evolving and advanced practitioners.

   

Cal Fulenwider

 

Cal Fulenwider III was the President of L.C. Fulenwider, Inc. for more than 30 years. He is now the Chairman of the Board and CEO. Cal has played the key role in the strategic planning, development and management of approximately 7,500 acres surrounding Denver International Airport (DIA), including the 3,000+ acre Reunion Master Planned Community in Commerce City, Peña Station NORTH (formerly Denver International Business Center), and Peña Station NEXT, both at the front door of DIA.

Prior to developing projects in the DIA area, Fulenwider was the Venture Manager for the 500,000 square foot Chase Bank building in downtown Denver and oversaw the development and management of numerous high-end residential projects, including Polo Club North, Polo Club North Homes, Polo Field West, and Larimer Place Condominiums. Cal is a founding member of the CU Real Estate Council and the DIA Business Partnership, now the Metro Denver Aviation Coalition. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate from the University of Colorado.

     Bill Graebel

Bill Graebel serves as the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Graebel Companies, Inc. Since joining the company in 1975, he has served in many roles, including General Manager; Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing; President of Graebel Movers and Graebel Movers International divisions and Chief Operating Officer.

Under Mr. Graebel’s leadership, Graebel Companies, Inc., has experienced rapid and sustained growth, and the company now provides services in 165 countries.
Thanks to his efforts, Graebel is an industry leader in global relocation management services, supporting clients worldwide in accordance with the company’s core values of Truth, Love and Integrity.
