Cindy focuses her practice on class action defense. She has handled more than a thousand matters under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), including hundreds of class actions. Her practice includes the representation of consumer reporting agencies, entities who furnish information to consumer reporting agencies, and employers who use background check information for employment purposes. In addition, she has significant experience representing companies defending class actions under consumer protection statutes and state common law.
Consumer finance clients trust Cindy’s experience and skill to resolve their most challenging cases. Focused on class action defense, Cindy has handled numerous FCRA cases and is the point of contact for consumer protection defense.

Jim is a technology attorney whose practice focuses on intellectual property protection, technology licensing, and strategic counseling. He has broad experience developing IP strategies, including preparing and prosecuting a wide range of patent applications and drafting and negotiating technology, IP, and software agreements.
Jim counsels clients on the protection, licensing, and enforcement of intellectual property rights and has extensive experience in patent litigation and prosecution. Jim also regularly counsels clients on technology development and licensing agreements, with an emphasis on software products, and counsels clients on corporate deals requiring the analysis of intellectual property assets and technology.
Jim represents clients in a variety of industries, including computer software and hardware, computer networks, wireless communication systems, telecommunications devices, semiconductor chips, medical devices, and industrial manufacturing machinery.
Jim is actively involved in the Atlanta Startup Community. He represents several startup companies, and has given lectures on various intellectual property topics to numerous organizations including NASA’s Langley Research Center, ATDC, Flashpoint, AUTM, IEEE, Morehouse School of Medicine’s Tech Talks, Startup Weekend, Startup Chicks, and numerous student groups at Georgia Tech.
Jim holds both a bachelors and masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and is experienced in hardware and software design. Jim is a frequent lecturer on intellectual property topics and is an adjunct instructor at Georgia Tech. Jim was recognized by Best Lawyers since 2014 and has also been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” and as a “Rising Star” in the field of intellectual property law by Law & Politics and Atlanta Magazine.

Alison assists clients in all aspects of discovery in litigation and investigations and advises clients on proactive litigation readiness and data management issues. She advises clients across matters as eDiscovery Counsel, using technology and legal advocacy to improve accuracy and efficiency. Alison is the founder and managing partner of Troutman eMerge, a wholly owned subsidiary of the firm, which provides end-to-end, integrated discovery and data management services for legal matters. She also serves as the chair of the firm’s innovation committee and is a leader of the firm’s generative AI task force.

Mike focuses his practice on intellectual property, dividing his time between litigation and client counseling in the fields of trademark, copyright, false advertising, and unfair competition law.
Mike negotiates complex trademark and copyright licenses in federal litigation, before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and in connection with large-scale trademark clearance and registration projects. His comprehensive approach to working with clients allows him to develop a strong knowledge of their objectives and advance their goals efficiently.
Mike is frequently invited to speak at industry conferences and on panels on current IP issues in industries such as sports, entertainment, technology, and media. His commentary has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and Law360, as well as on NBC and Bloomberg.
Mike has been consistently recognized for his work by World Trademark Review, Best Lawyers, and Managing Intellectual Property.
