Kathleen Christy
Vice President and a Wealth Strategist

As a Vice President and a Wealth Strategist, Kathleen Christy provides advice on complex estate and other wealth strategy issues. She has a high level of technical experience in estate, tax and wealth strategy issues. Kathleen works with a team of specialists in investment management, trust and banking services to help clients achieve their financial objectives.

Kathleen joined PNC in September of 2012 as a senior wealth planner. Prior to joining PNC, Kathleen served as a vice president and trust officer at Kinship Trust Company, LLC a single-family office/private trust company located in Chicago. Kathleen is a CPA with over 15 years of experience in public practice concentrating in administration and taxation of trusts & estates along with financial reporting and tax compliance for businesses and business owners.

Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Abilene Christian University.

Additionally, she holds the Certified Public Accountant and Certified Trust and Financial Advisor professional licenses. She also is a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Illinois CPA Society.

Kathleen serves as the treasurer of Porchlight Counseling Service, a Chicago based non-profit organization, which provides treatment and education regarding the impact of post-traumatic stress disorder as experienced by college age students.

Areas of specialization include: fiduciary & trust activities, financial planning, tax law & planning and investment management.

      

Sally Washlow
Board Member & CEO


Sally Washlow is an accomplished Board member and CEO with extensive experience in corporate governance, human resources, and supply chain expertise.  Sally is adept at driving product innovation, market expansion, marketing, and sales strategies along with organizational change, while improving profitability through expense management, cost reduction, and strategic alliances. She is a persuasive communicator and is skilled at assembling – and realigning – teams that meet tough demands.

Sally currently serves on the boards of public and private companies in the various capacities such as Board Chair, Audit Committee member, Compensation Committee Chair and Nominating and Governance Committee Chair.   

Sally Is the President of the Private Directors Association, Chicago Chapter.

Sally also leads the Midwest Practice for the International Center for Executive Options, a boutique practice within LHH, a global talent advisory firm, serving C-suite executives.

In prior roles, Sally was President and an Officer of Cobra Electronics (COBR), and CEO of Cedar Electronics a PE backed holding company for the Cobra and Escort Brands.   

Sally has an MBA in Marketing from DePaul University and a BA in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University.  

      

Joel S. Rothman
Director


Joel S. Rothman graduated Northwestern University School of Law, where he served on the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. He is a past Chairman of the Trust Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association and a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council, the Section on Trusts and Estates of the Illinois Bar Association, and the Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law of the American Bar Association. Joel also serves as a director of national and local charitable organizations. He is the past Chairman of the Board and National President of the American Society for Technion. Joel has practiced for more than 40 years in the areas of estate planning, probate, wealth protection, and trust administration. He has extensive experience in personal and family tax planning and succession planning. Joel works with entrepreneurs, professionals, executives, retirees, and closely held businesses. He is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network, is AV-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and Lawyers.com, and has been chosen for many years as a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine and as a Leading Lawyer by LeadingLawyers.com for numerous years. He has also been included among the top 100 attorneys in Illinois by 
Chicago Magazine.

Chris Engelman, CFA, CIC
Managing Director


Chris has deep experience in portfolio management and alternative investment strategies and is an equity owner of Parkside. He held the position of Chief Investment Officer at Cedar Hill for two years before moving to Parkside where Chris is instrumental in client communications and shaping investment strategy for our clients. Prior to joining Cedar Hill in 2003, Chris worked at Asset Consulting Group, assisting family offices in developing asset allocation strategies and evaluating traditional and alternative investment managers.

Chris earned his Bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College and his MBA in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis. Chris is a CFA® charterholder, Chartered Investment Counselor and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Chris has generational ties to the north shore where he resides surrounded by females: his wife, tween daughters and Peaches, the lab.
