Join Amanda North, CEO of Plan C Advisors, as she discusses how board directors can influence the creation of a strategic corporate action plan for climate change. She will cover the importance of educating your base, assessing a range of risks, from physical to reputational, evaluating your corporate purpose, catalyzing your entire organization, and communicating changes at every level—from your board to investors to your end customers. You will leave this session with an overview and a framework to ask questions in the boardroom to better prepare your company for the risks and opportunities of climate change.

Amanda North

Amanda North is CEO of Plan C Advisors, a global consultancy that provides Board directors and executives the insights and decision-making frameworks they need to catalyze climate action in their organizations (www.plancadvisors.com).  Amanda frequently writes and speaks on the topics of business resiliency, the role of business in climate action, and ESG. She guest lectures at universities, judges cleantech competitions, and mentors early stage founders and their teams.  Amanda’s industry experience spans corporate and agency leadership. As founder/CEO, Amanda built an online marketplace called Artisan Connect to provide women with economic empowerment in 16 countries across the developing world. The company, a certified B Corp,  merged with a non-profit at the end of 2016. Amanda served as VP of Marketing at technology companies, including: Aoptix, Splunk, Calico Commerce, and RasterOps. Early in her career, Amanda led the Desktop Publishing Group at Apple.  agency experience includes serving as Global Head Energy & Environment for Porter Novelli, a global communications agency. She co-founded Sequence LLC, a brand strategy and design firm acquired by Salesforce in 2017. She served as its managing director, developing blue chip clients including Chevron, Chipotle and Sonos. Earlier, Amanda was president of Studio Archetype, one of the first digital agencies. There she led brand strategy assignments and managed client services, growing the company to over 200 employees prior to its acquisition by Sapient.

Neda Mansoorian is a corporate governance advisor, diversity leader, and risk manager. Solving problems in the boardroom has been a natural and gratifying part of Neda's career. Drawing on well-honed diplomacy and mediation skills, Neda has been a unifying voice in resolving misalignments between either board members or between boards and their founder-CEOs. She also has served as a longtime private advisor to multi-billion dollar Family Offices and Fortune 500 C-Suite executives on sensitive matters. Neda is a systems thinker with rare combined skills not easily found in one executive. Her multidimensional background and zest for learning render Neda uniquely suited to help companies identify cutting-edge Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) opportunities.  In addition to being an entrepreneur and investor, Neda has also been a business lawyer for 20 years, 11 of which she served as a senior executive in the role of Chief Legal Officer (CLO). In this role, Neda served on her firms' boards, participating in the review and approval of corporate policies, business development plans, monthly financial statements, and annual budgets. In her practice, Neda represented clients, such as Intel, Feld Entertainment, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, General Catalyst Ventures, Varian Medical Systems, and Juniper Networks. Neda has also been involved in multi-stakeholder negotiations, including the Levi's Stadium development dispute with the NFL, 49ers, Santa Clara, and local business owners.
