An interactive program where we will share best practice for risk management framework/processes with practical takeaways to develop/improve risk management for your organization.

Parking

Hourly parking is available in the Ally Charlotte Center Parking Garage adjacent to the Hotel.  Ally Charlotte Center Parking Garage Rates: First Hour - $9, Each Additional 20 Minutes - $3, and Maximum Daily Rate - $26.  As well, there are nearby parking garages/lots within 1-2 blocks of the JW Marriott

Charlie Leichtweis 
Managing Director

Charlie Leichtweis is the founder of Experts in How LLC, a business consultancy focused on helping businesses with HOW to identify, prioritize, and eliminate/mitigate their barriers to sustainable profitable growth. Our focus is on family businesses.

Charlie has over 30 years of Global, Strategic, Operational, and Financial leadership experience with a record of success in helping organizations achieve sustainable profitable growth. Prior to Experts in HOW, Charlie shared his experiences as an advisor to clients as a Partner with Phoenix Strategic Advisors and Managing Director of Process Solutions, Inc.. He has held a number of C Suite roles including, CEO and President of The Testor Corporation, COO of North American Wholesale Group of Blyth Inc., CFO/COO of Rand McNally Book Services, and CFO and Comptroller of Rust-Oleum Corp.

Charlie has significant experience in strategy development and execution, alignment of strategy with process, leading global sourcing and operations, business transformation, driving growth, and creating a culture of continuous improvement. His deep international experience includes managing sourcing and manufacturing organizations in North America, China, Southeast Asia, and Europe.

Charlie has taught graduate school and is the author of top selling books on business, a popular speaker and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a number of companies.

       

Oscar Groomes
Managing Director
Groomes Business Solutions, LLC

Mr. Groomes is a Metallurgical Engineer, Physicist and Materials Scientist by trade. He earned BS degrees at both Tougaloo College and Brown University and an MS from Carnegie-Mellon University before joining GE in 1984 on an Engineering Management Program, followed by the Corporate Audit Staff. Oscar joined GE Plastics in 1988 as a Sales Rep and held subsequent positions in Marketing, Product Management, Sourcing and Commercial Leadership. In 1997, he went to Brazil as President of GE Plastics South America. In 2000 he was appointed General Manager of the Polycarbonate Business in Europe, and in July 2001 he assumed the role as President of GE Specialty Chemicals. In October 2002, Oscar was appointed President and CEO of GE Rail Services in Chicago, Illinois. In 2004 he left GE to join Almatis, a privately held LBO, as Chief Executive Officer based in Frankfurt, Germany. Oscar retired from Almatis after a successful sale in December 2007. He sat on the Board of Robert Family Holdings, a family office for 13 years where he served as Acting CEO (9/2012-1/2013). Oscar was also a Retained Advisor at GenNx360 Capital (6/11-5/21). Oscar is currently consulting with Groomes Business Solutions providing growth and transformation strategies. Oscar lectures on international business based on his vast experiences in the corporate and private sectors. He is a trustee at Queens University. He sits on the boards of Weiler Abrasives, Arduro - a used tire recycle firm, and Novant Health Foundation. Oscar was Board Chairman at Schramm where he served for 7 years. He has also lectured in the Executive MBA Program at Queens University and the Technical Masters Program (EMSTL) at Brown University. Oscar resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife Heide.
