Darren Gleeman

Darren Gleeman is a financial expert. Darren is the Managing Partner of MBO Ventures. He was the founder of e-Coupons, Managing Partner of both GMD Trading, and GB Trading. He’s highly sought after for his ESOP knowledge and financial acumen, as well as being a prolific angel investor with early investments in companies such as Screaming Media (NASDAQ:SCRM), Blackboard (NASDAQ:BBBB), Social Radar and his latest investments in ClassEdu and Accelerant Manufacturing.

Darren understands finance. Beginning at Wharton, he understood the value of hard work, quantitative modeling and the scientific method. From there, he founded a firm that took the human element out of trading. Jeff began his career as a CPA and auditor for just under ten years prior to entering the private sector. In 2022, Jeff retired from Superior Electric Great Lakes Company, a Metro Detroit-based industrial electrical contractor, after twenty-eight years, first as CFO and the last five years as President and CEO. As CEO of an ESOP company, his leadership ushered in a new era of growth, collaboration, transparency and success. He also established a professional and independent board of directors to help provide strategic direction and leadership to the company. Jeff made a number of strategic acquisitions on behalf of the organization and navigated the challenges of bringing two cultures together. His ability to bring a team together is one of the key skills he has attained throughout his career. Jeff is currently working with Lazear Capital, providing consulting services to ESOPs which include assistance with new transactions, direction on managing the complexities of ongoing ESOP administration, and helping ESOPs improve and guide their employee-ownership culture.

Jeff is a dynamic leader with the strength of a financial background combined with an understanding of what motivates people to achieve common goals. Jeff excels in visualizing opportunities from an entrepreneurial spirit that is the foundation for this successful ESOP visionary. He now spends time as a board director for privately held and employee-owned companies. Additionally, Jeff has been a featured speaker at various ESOP focused events around Southeast Michigan including to the ACG Detroit chapter; the NCEO national conference in Seattle, WA; and was the featured guest in a two-part series on the Growth Collective Podcast.

Kimberly Rodriguez

Kimberly is a renowned expert in transforming global organizations to maximize efficiencies in supply chain, manufacturing and operational performance. During her 30-year career, she has assisted automakers and suppliers in driving value creation by leveraging the interface between finance, operational (plant floor) efficiency, and the effective use of technology. Kimberly currently serves as a principal of her own firm SCRM, providing independent consulting services, largely to equity funds and multiple holding family funds relating to sales growth, efficiency and market strategy.

Most recently Kimberly was the Chief Executive Officer for Dura Automotive Systems. Prior to joining Dura, Kimberly was Chief Executive Officer of Rush Trucking, a $100 million long-haul trucking company. During the 2020 COVID Automotive shutdown, she helped to dramatically improve efficiency, reduce equipment cost in half and quadruple the customer base for Rush.

Kimberly sits on the Board of Directors for AMG Industries, LLC., and Romeo Rim, as well as on the Executive Committee and General Board for The Children’s Center, a Detroit-based non-profit. She is a founding member and the first female chair of the Private Director’s Association, which provides training and insight for existing and potential board members of privately held companies. In 2019 she was named “Director to Watch” by Directors & Boards Magazine.

Kimberly earned a Bachelor of Art in economics and accounting from Michigan State University and a Master’s in business administration from Walsh College.
