Managing Cyber Risk

Overview

Companies are facing greater and greater cybersecurity risks. Most small and mid-size companies lack technical, systems, and risk mitigation expertise, while rogue actors are incentivized by financial rewards. Banks, insurance companies and governments are driving increased compliance expectations. However, those expectations do not free management teams and the Board from their responsibility to protect their companies from cyber threats. Our discussion will address many of the basics, such as:

  • The Board’s role in developing strategies and allocating resources to understand and address cyber threats
  • The most common vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them
  • Attack response protocols
  • The role of cyber insurance
