Moderator

Bona K. Allen
SVP/CFO
Kajima Building & Design Group, Inc.

Bona Allen has served KBDG as Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer since 2013. KBDG’s focus is the design and construction of large, advanced manufacturing facilities; warehouse/distribution centers; and office interiors throughout the US.

Through the pandemic, and to some extent currently, KBDG has navigated supply chain challenges by working with subcontractors/material providers as costs and delivery times increased, while also dealing with client reticence to cover those cost increases and extend dates of contractually required building completion. Bona teamed with operations to develop ways to fund those cost increases, resulting in accelerated deliveries (where possible), and enhanced relationships with subcontractors and material providers in difficult times.

While KBDG’s ultimate parent is publicly traded in Japan, KBDG, and its US parent, are treated as private companies. Bona will describe his experience in working with executive leadership, and KBDG’s Board, particularly over the last three years.

Over his 40+ year career Bona has served as CFO, or top finance person, for publicly traded and privately held companies primarily focused on real estate development, construction, operations and investment.

Bona has earned the Directorship Certification, awarded by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of 3Keys (www.the3Keys.org); the City of Dunwoody, GA’s Alcohol License Review Board; and the Advisory Board of the CFO Leadership Council’s Atlanta Chapter.
