This fall, Private Directors Association (PDA) – Carolinas Chapter will host a focused program on financial governance for smaller, privately held companies. Many growth-oriented businesses in the Triangle lack the benefit of comprehensive board oversight, especially when it comes to preparing for funding related due diligence and for their exit strategies—this session will address that gap head-on.
Through a panel discussion featuring perspectives from entrepreneurial leadership, CFO and experienced founders, and accounting advisory services, the program will explore:
- When do you need a board of directors?
- How do you balance having the right financial processes in place as you scale?
- When is the right time to grow your accounting and finance team?
- Key responsibilities of board members
- What CEOs should communicate to their boards
- How to build strong governance relationships between management and directors
- The board’s role in fundraising, revenue oversight, and profitability
Attendees will gain practical, actionable guidance on strengthening financial oversight. The event is designed to resonate with CEOs, startup leaders, small company executives, and current or aspiring board members who want to elevate governance practices and support sustainable growth.
By bringing together diverse expertise, this session will foster a rich, pragmatic conversation that both informs and equips participants to drive stronger financial governance in their organizations.
