Discussion around AI and Generative AI are reaching a fever pitch in today’s boardrooms but are directors and their management teams focused on the right questions and considerations to successfully navigate rapidly advancing technology? Private Directors Association's Atlanta Chapter has assembled a panel of experienced leaders to both show how companies like yours are embracing technology and lean into opportunities as well as share lessons being learned to mitigate emerging risks. The team from BDO will be facilitating. Kirstie Tiernan from BDO will provide a presentation on AI and the role of the board.  Amy Rojik from BDO will then moderate a panel discussion

Directions & Parking

Please note that Kajima Building and Design Group is located in Monarch Plaza and not Monarch Tower. Turn into the complex at the traffic light on Peachtree, the building is directly across Peachtree from Lenox Square. Entrance to the parking deck is on the left side of the building, access to the lobby is on level P4 of the parking deck, one level up from the entrance. There should be plenty of parking on that level but if not there is elevator access to the lobby from parking. 

Be sure to bring the parking  ticket for validation.

For reference, building is connected to the Whitley, formerly the Ritz Buckhead.

Before Elevance Health, Rajeev was a partner at Deloitte Consulting, LLP, where he established and led Deloitte’s life sciences and healthcare advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and innovation practices. Additionally, he was instrumental in shaping Deloitte’s blockchain and cryptocurrency solutions and authored pieces on various exponential technology topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and precision medicine. Rajeev obtained a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Osmania University in India and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania.

   

Kirstie Tiernan

Kirstie Tiernan is a principal at BDO Digital, where she serves as the Digital Go-to-Market leader. In this role, Kirstie focuses on expanding BDO Digital's market presence by leveraging her expertise in data-driven innovation and strategic digital solutions. Kirstie also serves a national leader for the Digital Labs practice, which is focused on collaborative product development and innovation. This team drives the creation of new digital products and solutions, ensuring that BDO remains at the forefront of technological advancements.

Kirstie also spearheads the firm's focus on artificial intelligence (AI) for clients. She leads initiatives that integrate AI technologies into business strategies, helping clients leverage AI to optimize operations, enhance customer experiences, and drive growth. Her leadership in AI ensures that BDO Digital's clients are well-equipped to navigate the complexities and opportunities presented by AI advancements.

Kirstie's passion for empowering BDO with technology was evident during her tenure as co-lead for the firm's Digital Transformation & Innovation strategy execution. Under her co-leadership, the firm achieved several key milestones, including the establishment of the BDO bot factory, the organization's inaugural Hackathon, and the facilitation of brainstorming and ideation sessions throughout the company.

Myrna has over 28 years of Information Technology/ CyberSecurity experience. Myrna is the Founder and CEO of Apogee Executive Advisors. An advisory firm specializing in CyberSecurity, Technology Risk, Enterprise Risk Management, Technology integrations, Board Service and Governance. 

Myrna serves on several publicly traded company boards including CMS Energy, Spirit Airlines, TriNet and Popular Inc. She is recognized as a Governance and Board Leadership Fellow by NACD. She also serves on four private company boards Vectra.ai, Huntress, HeadSpace Health and Delinea. She also serves as a Sr. Investment Advisor for TPG Capital. 

She most recently served as the Chief Strategy and Trust Officer for Forcepoint. She also served as COO of a managed security service provider (MSSP) as well an Investment Partner at ForgePoint Capital. Her previous roles include serving as Corporate SVP & Global CISO for Comcast Corp, CISO MGM Resorts and other senior leadership positions with American Express, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Kemper Insurance. 

She is a highly decorated executive with a long list of recognitions including , being recognized as Recognized As NACD Directorship 100TM Honoree 2022. She was previously named to Directors & Boards Magazine as a Director to Watch. She also was recognized by boardiQ as a Hall of Fame LatinX | Hispanic Top 100 Honoree. Amy Rojik

Amy has spent 20 years with BDO as part of the National Professional Practice. She founded and directs BDO’s Center for Corporate Governance, designed for those charged with governance of both public and private companies. She is responsible for the development and presentation of a significant volume of BDO’s continuing professional education (CPE)-worthy webinar, on-demand and podcast programs and thought leadership pieces on a variety of matters related to corporate governance, including cybersecurity, fraud, succession planning, and audit quality. She further develops certain of our firm’s board of director forums as well as participates in external events for corporate directors.

She also participates in the development and implementation of BDO’s national strategies and initiatives that support industry, business, technical, and client service goals and serves on BDO’s ESG Executive Leadership Team. She is responsible for publication and issuance of BDO’s annual voluntary Audit Quality Report as well as tools and templates supporting communications with our client Audit Committees.

Amy currently serves as BDO's Policy Lead to and participates on the Center for Audit Quality’s (CAQ) Advisory Council and has assisted in CAQ initiatives, including the SEC climate change disclosures, audit committee communications and audit quality indicators.

She fully supports BDO initiatives aimed at flexibility, development, and career progression, and has served the BDO’s Women’s Inclusion initiative and the Virtual Parenting Network as well as BDO’s focus on the audit of the future.

Amy has a combined 11 years of prior Big Four firm public accounting experience serving manufacturing and high technology companies as well as private companies, primarily in the wholesale distribution and biotechnology markets. Such experience included assisting clients with public debt offerings and acquisition transactions.
