Overview

As a Board Director, how do you know whether the “S” and “G” are robust? What approaches are most valuable here? Join our expert virtual panel to peel the onion on the “S” (Social) and “G” (Governance) topic beyond today’s current focus of “E” (Environment), a pivotal agenda item but not inclusive of board imperatives in 2022 and beyond. Our panel will dig into S and G areas including diversity, equity, inclusion, ethics, risk mitigation and stakeholder imperatives.  There will be Optional Connect with Colleagues/Breakout Rooms following the webinar from 2:00 PM - 2:15 PM

Thank you to our National and Gold Chapter Sponsors!

    Hillary Flynn
Managing Director and Director of ESG, Private Investments
Wellington Management

As the director of ESG for Wellington’s private investments business, Hillary spearheads the evaluation of deals and ongoing private investments from an environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) perspective. She also engages directly with the firm’s private portfolio companies to help them navigate the evolving global ESG landscape. Hillary leads Wellington’s efforts to assess ESG factors pre- and post-investment that can have a material impact on the long-term success of portfolio companies. For example, she evaluates factors related to climate change, supply- chain management, and executive compensation. In addition to her ESG research and due diligence work, Hillary engages and consults with private portfolio companies on how they can improve their ESG profiles to be better positioned to enter the public markets. She leverages her extensive ESG experience and Wellington’s robust firmwide ESG capabilities to assess and seek to remedy potential ESG concerns over the course of each investment. Through this cross-pollination of skill sets and collaboration with portfolio companies, Hillary seeks to apply ESG best practices across the firm’s private investments. Hillary is a member of the Wellington Women’s Business Alliance (WBA) leadership team and serves on the WBA Business Impact Committee. Prior to her current role, Hillary worked as an analyst on the firm’s ESG team.
