Our three panelists bring diverse perspectives: board member, ESOP trustee, plan administrator and how employee ownership impacts the culture. We will hear about success stories and things to consider when adding independent directors to an ESOP board.

Jayne McQuillan

Kyle Spader

Kyle Spader has spent the past seven years working at Acumen Advisory Services providing external trustee services for approximately 80-100 clients. Mr. Spader provides transactional support for both buy and sell side ESOP engagements and assists with ongoing client relationships.

Kyle has a CPA, CMA, CVA and tax background and has served in both CFO and Division President roles with a large 100% ESOP. He is a frequent speaker in forums around the country for both the ESOP Association and National Center for Employee Ownership on topics including Board Governance, Acquisitions in ESOP companies and various ESOP Topics from a Trustee’s perspective.

Kyle has experience as both an internal and external ESOP Board member, internal and external trustee, executive leadership of an ESOP company and practical business experience as a P & L manager.

             

Jason Wellman
Director of Ownership Culture
ESOP Partners

Jason Wellman is a director of ownership culture with ESOP Partners. Jason helps ESOP companies by developing a comprehensive Ownership Culture through proactive educational resources for all participants to improve their understanding of ESOPs' unique benefits. 

He is a member and past chairman of The ESOP Association Advisory Committee on Ownership Culture. Executive Vice President – President Elect of the Wisconsin ESOP chapter and a member of the Minnesota & Dakotas ESOP Chapter Membership Committee. Jason is also a contributing author for the ESOP Association’s ESOP Report on Ownership Advantage topics to improve ESOP culture and communications for the Association’s members. 

In his free time, Jason is a devoted Wisconsin sports fan and attends games frequently with his wife, Anne. He enjoys spending time playing sports with their three children, Brady, Tyler, and Leah. He is also actively involved in his local church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and AWANA Captain.
