Nancy M. Dahl’s executive career spans five industries ranging from companies $20M-750M in size where she served as President and COO, including Lifetouch, Tastefully Simple, Cambria, Nordic Ware and Securian. She is an award-winning author of GROUNDED: Leading Your Life with Intention. Nancy’s leadership has been recognized and earned numerous awards including The Business Journal’s “Top 25 Women to Watch”, and “Women who Lead”.

Now her work as a Corporate Board Director and Strategic Advisor, she melds years of hands-on experience with her deep analysis of what actually works. Her board experience spans 18 boards over the past 20 years ranging from early stage to $1Billion in revenue. Nancy believes boards can represent a key competitive advantage at a time when so many of the external market and political challenges that companies face are well beyond their control. Her work has garnered the Advanced Fellowship Distinction from The National Association of Corporate Directors and she has been recognized as an “Outstanding Corporate Board Director”.

As an expert commentator on leadership, leading innovation and transformative change, she has been a TEDx speaker, contributed to NBC, ABC, and Business Journals. Nancy earned an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas and is an alumnus of the Executive Education Program at the University of Minnesota, as well as earned undergraduate degrees in business and communications, minors in speech and psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College.

She has been married for 39 years to Brian. Together they enjoy life’s adventures with their boys Erik and Jorgen and their families, hunting, fishing, skiing, riding motorcycles, at the cabin or farm. Nancy is an avid photographer so she enjoys capturing the experiences and stories of their time together

Chris Heim MBA Board Member, E.A. Sween Company Mayor, City of Medicine Lake, MN Former CEO, multiple companies

Chris Heim is a servant-minded leader, guided by a passion for helping people achieve excellence in business, community, and personal pursuits. Chris has served as a CEO for three companies of $35M to $100M revenues, is a Board Director for two mid-market companies, and the Mayor for the City of Medicine Lake. He is known for building high-performance teams, scaling business operations, and innovating fresh solutions. His people-first leadership style is centered on helping others celebrate the best version of themselves - every day - as they simultaneously create remarkable outcomes for the organizations they serve. 

Outside of his executive leadership positions, he is a mentor for software entrepreneurs through MESA and a retired volunteer firefighter with 20 years of service. He also enjoys doing an endurance event each year, with two recent highlights being a full Ironman triathlon and swimming Alcatraz off the shores of San Francisco. Chris and his wife, Heidi, have been married for 26 years and have two college-aged children. 

Anne deBruin Sample CEO - Navigate Forward Board Member - MyMeds

Anne Sample is an experienced business and HR leader, and the CEO/owner of Navigate Forward. She has a track record of leading business-building transformation and developing top talent. Anne has engaged her passion for helping leaders find new destinations during times of transition. Navigate Forward’s Board Readiness service helps senior leaders to understand the Board landscape, evaluate and improve their readiness and then market themselves.

In her early career Anne worked in a variety of HR and strategy roles for Whirlpool, PepsiCo, Walker Digital, and Citibank. She has served as the Head of HR for PepsiAmericas, Thrivent Financial, and Caribou Coffee and Bagels.

Anne is a natural connector who is recognized for her ability to reframe problems, identify new solutions, manage through change, and share her candid perspective. An engaging speaker, Anne is often asked to present at conferences and professional events. She currently serves on Board of Directors of MyMeds, a MN-based startup that provides individuals with the digital health tools and real time data. 

Jim Zuehlke President, Cardinal Board Services Board Member, Winona State University Co-Founder and Exec Comm Member, PDA-MN

Having worked with both established and fast growing companies Jim has seen firsthand the value people bring to leveraging key business functions leading to business success and stronger companies. Jim has worked in the executive search market for over 30 years, founding his own firm Cardinal Mark in 1995.

With the success of Cardinal Mark, Jim founded Cardinal Board Services with a mission to help companies build better boards. The passion to work closely with corporate boards of directors has led Cardinal Board Services to be a leading board services company. Having experienced first hand the need for board diversity Cardinal Board Services created New Quorum, a platform for helping women obtain their first corporate Board of Directors role.

Jim is a graduate of Winona State University with degrees in Marketing and Computer Science. He has served on multiple corporate boards and currently serves on one corporate and two university boards. Jim is married with four adult children and resides in Wayzata, MN. 

John Tedesco Founding Partner, Arena Partners and Board Member Solid Ground

John Tedesco is an entrepreneurial chief executive and company director with 20+ years’ experience building and leading venture-backed technology companies including SportsEngine, Drip, Leadpages and When I Work, among others.  John currently serves as a strategic and operating advisor to CEOs and boards of venture capital and private equity backed companies. He has deep experience with board-related matters, both as an operator and as an independent director, having served on five boards in his career.

Jim’s 22 Years of Board service and 30+ years of work in the commercial real estate industry uniquely equip him to help address strategic business problems and challenges.  This is especially true when the challenge leads to devising innovative and transformational real estate solutions. At Cresa, his primary activities involve the crafting and implementation of strategic real estate plans for local and global organizations, client lease negotiation in the Minneapolis CBD metro area, and facilitating the development process for large or complicated corporate real estate portfolios. Well-known in the industry, Jim is often called upon by the media to provide perspective on economic trends and their impact on corporate real estate markets. Clients appreciate his diverse mix of project experience, strategic business perspective, and knowledge of real estate market drivers.
